ICHOM Standard Set for Reporting Outcomes in Heart Valve Disease
Published: febrero 17, 2025

The First International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM) has introduced a standardized dataset for reporting outcomes in heart valve disease (HVD). Developed by a multisociety taskforce, including major cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery societies, this dataset emphasizes patient-centered outcomes over procedure-focused metrics. It includes 16 outcome measures and case-mix variables, covering vital status, patient-reported outcomes, disease progression, cardiac function, and treatment complications. This initiative aims to standardize global outcome measurement, enabling meaningful comparisons across healthcare systems.
